The Technology
What is HAPT®?
HAPT stands for Horizontal Alternating Pressure Technology. It is a globally patented system developed exclusively by EASE Seating Systems. No other wheelchair seating product in the world uses this mechanism.
The human body naturally shifts weight during extended seated time, which may help maintain healthy circulation to compressed areas. HAPT® was engineered to replicate that process automatically, in the seating surface itself, on its own timer, whether or not the user moves.
It is not a firmer foam. It is not a reactive air cell that adjusts when you lean. It is an active mechanical system: bladders, valves, a near-silent pump, and a microprocessor cycling pressure laterally beneath the user, continuously.
